A grieving mother from Limpopo is demanding justice after her two-year-old daughter, Revival Padime, tragically passed away following an alleged refusal of medical care at a local clinic.
Turned Away Despite Urgent Medical Needs
Tebogo Padime, 35, from Praktiseer in Burgersfort, alleges that her daughter was denied treatment at the Praktiseer Clinic on Friday, 28 March, because she did not have a medical file at the facility.
“My child had severe nosebleeds, but the clinic refused to help us because she had no file with them,” said a heartbroken Tebogo. “Instead, they told me to take her to another clinic where her medical records were available.”
Desperate to get help, Tebogo walked approximately 5km to Ga-Motodi Clinic with her ailing daughter. However, upon arrival, nurses confirmed the worst.
A Tragic Loss
“They examined my baby, checked her pulse, and a few minutes later, they told me she was no more,” Tebogo recalled.
Overcome with grief, she believes that her daughter could have been saved had the Praktiseer Clinic provided immediate assistance.
“I am deeply hurt because if they had just helped her on time, she would still be alive today,” she said. “They should have acted urgently instead of turning us away.”
Now, Tebogo is demanding accountability from the clinic staff responsible for refusing her daughter medical attention.
“They must be held responsible for what they did to my baby,” she insisted.
Health Department Launches Investigation
The Limpopo Department of Health has responded to the incident by launching an official investigation.
Department spokesperson Neil Shikwambana expressed deep concern over the allegations.
“We are investigating an incident that allegedly occurred at Praktiseer Clinic on 28 March, where a two-year-old child suffering from a nosebleed was turned away because of an unavailable medical file,” said Shikwambana.
“Tragically, the child passed away before receiving care at Ga-Motodi Clinic, which was 5km away.”
He assured the public that the department would conduct a full investigation to determine what led to the child’s death and decide the next course of action.

The young girl was laid to rest on Monday, 31 March, leaving her devastated family seeking justice and answers.
