A huge round of applause goes to Mbeko Ayanda, a Grade 12A learner from the Class of 2024, who has achieved an extraordinary academic milestone. Ayanda has made his school and community proud by scoring a remarkable 100% in his Mathematics Paper 2 during the June Common Test. This outstanding achievement has not only inspired his fellow learners but has also drawn praise from his teachers and school leadership.
Ayanda’s exceptional performance in Mathematics P2 is no small feat. Mathematics is often regarded as one of the most challenging subjects in high school, especially at the senior level where the curriculum becomes more advanced and demanding. Scoring full marks in a mathematics exam requires not just intelligence, but also consistent dedication, practice, and a deep understanding of the subject matter.
What makes Ayanda’s success even more impressive is that his excellence in Mathematics is not limited to just one paper. He also performed exceptionally well in Mathematics Paper 1, securing a near-perfect score of 99%. His combined achievement in both Mathematics papers clearly reflects his talent and hard work, setting an incredible example for his classmates and other students in the school.

In recognition of his outstanding academic excellence, Ayanda was awarded R200 in cash as a token of appreciation for his commitment and remarkable results. While the reward may be modest, it symbolizes the school’s encouragement of academic excellence and recognition of hard work. This gesture also serves as motivation for other learners to put in their best effort and aim for excellence in their studies.
Special credit and appreciation also go to Mr. S. Bulose, Ayanda’s Mathematics teacher, who played a significant role in guiding and supporting him throughout his academic journey. Great teachers are often the foundation behind outstanding learners, providing not only subject knowledge but also mentorship, encouragement, and the necessary skills to approach difficult problems with confidence. Mr. Bulose’s dedication and teaching skills have clearly contributed to Ayanda’s success, and this achievement is as much a victory for the teacher as it is for the learner.
Ayanda was pictured proudly alongside Mrs. Z.T. Miya, the deputy principal of the school, as they celebrated this remarkable academic milestone. The image captured their joy and pride in this achievement, symbolizing the collaborative efforts of the learner, teacher, and school leadership.
