Precious Ngidi, a 28-year-old mother from KwaZulu-Natal, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of Noxolo Mkhwanazi, 26, after a deadly acid attack in Tongaat in March. Ngidi, suspecting Mkhwanazi of an affair with her husband, confronted her at her workplace, leading to a heated argument. She then threw sulfuric acid from a container onto Mkhwanazi, with some splashing back on herself. A reaction officer quickly escorted Ngidi to Tongaat police station to protect her from an angry crowd.
