A devastating road accident in Isipingo, south of Durban, has left at least ten people dead, sending shockwaves through the local community and once again highlighting the dangers on South Africa’s busy roads. The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning in Lotus Park, along the R102, and involved a collision between a minibus taxi and a truck.

The road was quickly closed off to allow paramedics, fire services, and law enforcement to carry out rescue and recovery operations.

Jamieson confirmed that more emergency units were dispatched to the area to help manage the scale of the tragedy. “Additional ambulances are on the way to assist,” he said, adding that the scene would remain active for an extended period due to the number of casualties and the complexity of the crash.
