One particularly emotional message shared online captured the pain felt by many. The tribute spoke of the couple’s warmth, compassion and love for others, while highlighting the devastating reality that their three-year-old son is now left without his parents. The message reflected a collective anguish, acknowledging not only the loss of two young lives but also the lifelong impact the tragedy will have on the child they leave behind.

In response to the loss, community members came together in unity and support. A memorial service was held at Makgaung Village on 11 December 2025, where mourners shared memories, prayers and words of comfort with the grieving families.
