Victoria Range, Zimbabwe – A dark cloud has descended over the Victoria Range community following the heartbreaking suicide of a Form One girl from Zimuto High School on August 27, 2025. The young pupil, whose identity remains undisclosed, took her own life at home, leaving behind a poignant note addressed to her mother, father, and friend Shamma. Her father, Chris Mezah, was overcome with grief and could barely speak during an interview with The Midweek Watch, confirming the tragic loss.
The note, written in a trembling hand, revealed her deep despair: “Dear Mama, I am sorry for everything that you have to go through because of me… But at least it’s killing myself too… You don’t have to use a lot of money on me… I wish God gives you gift children and they should never be like me.” She expressed regret for disappointing her family, citing struggles with school fees, poor grades, and emotional exhaustion, and pleaded for forgiveness while asking not to be judged.
Chris Mezah found his daughter lifeless upon returning from work, despite her being with siblings all day as preparations were underway for her return to Zimuto High School for the third term. The community is reeling, with authorities investigating the circumstances. The family has requested privacy as they cope with the loss, and no further details have been released.
