Johannesburg – Renowned musician Vusi Nova, whose real name is Vusumzi Nongxa, narrowly escaped death in a serious car accident over the weekend, sharing a heartfelt message about the fragility of life on social media.
In a video posted on Instagram, Nongxa recounted the harrowing incident, emphasizing how unexpectedly it unfolded shortly after attending a celebration for his friend Somizi’s 50th birthday in Sun City. He revealed that he was en route to a gig in Vaal when the accident occurred, involving himself and his bodyguards.
“Molweni, so as some of you may know, I was involved in a car accident last night. So what happened was that we went to Pretoria for a gig, and then from Pretoria, we went to Sun City. We were celebrating Somizi’s 50th birthday in Sun City. And then from there, I was meant to be going to another gig in Vaal. You know, when I left my friends in Sun City, at no point was I thinking that it could be the last time I see them. At no point was I thinking of that. And this accident happened on the way,” Nongxa said in the video.
The musician described the experience as eye-opening, advising his followers to live and love without apology. He stressed the importance of not taking loved ones for granted, given life’s brevity. “This got me thinking that life is too short, so the people that you say you love, don’t take them for granted, okay. Whatever second or minute you spend with them, make sure they know exactly how you feel about them. Be vocal about your feelings because you do not know what will happen in a second now,” he added.
Nongxa confirmed that the crash was severe but expressed profound gratitude for their safety. “Now, I am not trying to preach, but I am being realistic, especially coming from what happened yesterday. That was a serious accident, okay. But by the grace of God once again, myself and my bodyguards are all fine.
